On Friday, September 27th, The Garden City Hotel hosted a memorable evening in support of breast health education. The highlight was the recognition of film icon Ralph Macchio, whose presence energized the crowd. During the program there was not a dry eye in the house when our student speaker Emma Grzybowski shared her personal cancer story and the impact of the Maurer Foundation breast health programs. Throughout the event, guests filled the dance floor, eagerly participated in a silent and live auction, and tested their luck on an array of fantastic raffle prizes. The Foundation wishes to express gratitude to everyone who played a part in the Gala’s success, raising over $240,000! These vital funds help deliver life-saving information to high school and college students throughout Long Island and the five boroughs.
