Sunday, June 2nd, marked a significant milestone as The Maurer Foundation celebrated the 10th annual Motorcycle Ride, raising an impressive $19,000 for breast health education! The day kicked off at Overlook Beach in Babylon where a lively DJ pumped up the crowd, setting the stage for an unforgettable event. Our very own Events Manager, Katie Vernal, captivated the crowd with a powerful rendition of the National Anthem, igniting the excitement for the ride ahead. With engines roaring and spirits soaring, over 200 bikers embarked on a thrilling 60-mile ride from Overlook Beach to Jamesport Farm Brewery in Riverhead. Chosen Souls Motorcycle Club took the lead, planning the route and ensuring biker safety on the ride. Brian Krohberger, President of the Club stated, “Since 2018, this charity ride has been more than just an annual event for the Chosen Souls—it’s become a tradition deeply embedded in our hearts. Every mile we ride, every dollar we help to raise, represents our commitment to making a meaningful impact for The Maurer Foundation.”
The energy of the beautiful day on the East End never let up as riders enjoyed lunch, artisan craft vendors, and took their chances with raffles! The musical vibes continued with a live musician belting out everything from blues to rock and roll. Brian Busto, CEO of BMB Solutions and Event Sponsor stated, “We are excited to be here and look forward to every year making this a better and better event to help The Maurer Foundation and bring more attention to breast cancer awareness.”
Heartfelt gratitude extends to the Suffolk County Police Department Highway Patrol and the Riverhead Police Department for their vigilant support in ensuring everyone’s safety, as well as to the numerous motorcycle clubs that rallied in solidarity.
