28th Annual Golf Classic
It was worth the wait
After weeks of rain and cold, May 8th brought warm weather and clear blue skies for our 28th Annual Golf Classic, raising over $280,000 for breast health education. Golfers arrived at Mill River Club and Meadow Brook Club to enjoy a wonderful brunch and some time to warm up on the putting green and driving range.
This year we challenged our golfers to a new competition, the Pink Ball Contest, which upped the level of competition and provided an opportunity for ribbing those teams that lost their ball along the way. Sal Arena, Lawrence Arena, Vincent DiCrescento & Paul Pomponio were the winners of the contest at Meadow Brook and Sal Savarese, Joe Azzopardi, Moe Roblo, & Mike Kerns won at Mill River.
Continuing competition
The competition continued with the following winners at Mill River: 1st Low Team Gross (score 66) – District Council 9; 1st Low Team Net (score 54) – Better Home Health Care; Men’s Longest Drive – Brock Kovack for the second year in a row; Women’s Longest Drive – Geri Gregor; Women’s Low Gross (109) – Laurie Stanziale; Women’s Low Net (77) – Melissa Schwartz; Men’s Closest to the Pin (13’5”) – Rob Harper; Women’s Closest to the Pin (9’11”) – Val Thompson.
At Meadow Brook, the winners were: 1st Low Team Gross (score 63) – Alliant; 1st Low Team Net (score 56) – The Kalikow Group; Men’s Longest Drive – Rich Ferrucci; Women’s Longest Drive – Mary Meyer; Women’s Low Gross (86) – Meg Cobb; Women’s Low Net (79) – Megan Martino; Men’s Closest to the Pin (6’1”) – Ed Kalikow; Women’s Closest to the Pin (18’7”) – Meg Cobb.

The sunset on the patio of the Mill River Club provided stunning views, while everyone enjoyed delicious food, refreshing cocktails, and entertaining conversations. Guests generously purchased tickets for the opportunity to win raffle baskets and bid on a variety of silent auction prizes. Our 50/50 raffle winners shared over $10,000.
