As one of our most consistent and ardent supporters and funders Pink Aid has made it possible for us to reach the most vulnerable and underserved Long Island community members. This year Pink Aid of Long Island has awarded The Maurer Foundation $18,000! This grant will make it possible for us to do things like buy silicone breast models. These extremely life-like models replicate the tactile characteristics of cancerous lumps. They are critical components to teaching and learning proper Breast Self-Exam techniques, especially since a BSE is often the best, first, and unfortunately for some women and men in communities with less access to healthcare, the only way to discover lumps. Thank you to Pink Aid for providing us with the funding to make this essential breast health education accessible to everyone!
